Arlington North Rotary Club Recognizes Dr. McDaniel

On July 8, 2004 at the annual officer's installation ceremony and banquet, out-going Rotary President John Miller on the left in the picture called H. Reg McDaniel, M.D. and his wife physician wife Candace to the podium and a certificate for 38 years perfect attendance in Rotary was awarded to "Dr. REG".

Dr. McDaniel stated it has been relatively easy for him to achieve this record of unbroken attendance because there are so many Rotary Clubs within less than 30 minutes drive surrounding the mid-Dallas-Ft. Worth region where he lives and works. He enjoys keeping this "string of hits at bat" going because in his lectures he frequently admonishes the listeners with the statement, "Long after education, talent, credentials, degrees, training, planning, and goal setting have let you down on achieving a targeted achievement, that focus, consistency and persistence will serve you in achieving your needs, hopes and dreams. Each and everyone, at any age and stage in life can muster focus, consistency and persistence into their service." Dr. McDaniel further stated, "It is nice to be able to make reference to this growing record of consistent attendance after having made such a statement." He further indicated that the principles of Rotary, "Service above self, he profits most who serves the best," is in harmony with the mission of thousands he speaks to that are not in a Rotary Club.

Rotary International is a club made up of business and professional men and women. Each week the club members in nations around the world stand and recited the Rotary Pledge that is the heart of the principles the meetings seek to instill and spread throughout the world of commerce:

"In all the things we think and do----

It is the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build good will and friendship?

Will it be beneficial to all ?"
